Beliefs & Values

What We Believe

Trinity Anglican Church stands in the long line of Christian faith and tradition reaching back to the very earliest days of the Church. Our faith is summarized in the words of the ancient Creeds (Nicene and Apostles’), understood in their plain and historic sense.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testament), as interpreted by the Church with the leading of the Holy Spirit, is the revealed Word of God and contains everything necessary for salvation. It is the ultimate standard of our faith and practice.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

Amen.

What We Value

As we seek to be a stable and sending church in the West Loop we are unwaveringly committed to the transformation found through:

  • Gospel

We hold fast to the good news that Jesus died and through his resurrection defeated death.

  • Community

We need others as we seek to be transformed. We see to orient our lives around living together as a family.

  • Mission

Because of this good news, as a community we are sent out to invite others into this transformation.
